As far back as the day Mrs. O'Leary's cow started the great Chicago fire, or the city of San Francisco was ravaged by earthquake and fire, the adjusting profession in this country has served an active, honorable role in helping those who suffer injury or damage to property due to unfortunate twists of fate. This course explores the insurance claims profession from the dawn of its day through the decades of modern day claims handling, while highlighting the fundamental activities of adjusting and the higher level responsibilities of an adjuster under various state statutes.

We will discuss the role a Public Adjuster plays as part of our nation’s insurance industry, the obligations and responsibilities of a Public Adjuster and why that role is becoming increasingly important to the financial recovery of consumers after a loss occurs in today's society. Finally, licenses are directed through the responsibilities a Public Adjuster faces under the NAIC’s Unfair Claim Settlement Practices Act as enacted by Florida and other states across the country.

This course has been certified by the Florida Department of Financial Services for 3 Public Adjuster CE (2 Ethics and 1 Optional) credits under Course #69961.

*Important! DON'T DUPLICATE YOUR EFFORTS by repeating a course you've already taken! Florida DFS only allows a course to be taken once in a three year period. If you think you may have taken the course before, just review your CE transcript by visiting My Profile on the Florida DFS website. Compare the course number to make sure that you haven't previously taken the course in the past 3 years. And don't focus on the course title! It's the course number that counts. If you're still not sure, call us first at (800) 820-4550. Your time is valuable. Don't waste it taking a course that will not count towards your current CE compliance period!
